The story follows "Edo's Three Shadows" (Edo's Sanni-en)—Takasaka Jinouchi, Jozawa Junai, and Shoji Jinouchi. Three years after the legendary Battle of Sekigahara in 1603 AD, Takasaka Jinouchi, a former thief with a notorious past, is approached by Okubo Changan, a powerful figure in Edo. Changan seeks his help to bring down Kotaro Fuuma and his clan of criminals, who have been wreaking havoc across the city. But as Jinouchi faces this dangerous mission, he must wonder—what does Changan truly want, and what price will Jinouchi have to pay in return for taking on this perilous task?
